Hello! This is Dзscriptivз 3ntity Tags (d3t for short), a project by N3R3SH.

This folder/data pack is meant to help you categorize Minecraft mobs in a useful way beyond just the four vanilla categories. I add entries based on my judgement, from the most popular mods, so that you don't need to do much work in tagging mobs to put them in categories that your own system *of whatever* may rely on.

You are free to add or remove entries, tags and category folders as you see fit and you may share this in whatever form and in whatever places you want.

This is made mostly with 1.20.1 and later versions in mind, so mods that only support older versions are not represented, but mobs from newer vanilla Minecraft are included. Older versions of mods may break their respective tags if a mob is not present in the version you are using. You can add the entry to the tags yourself, or get a newer version of the mod, if you can.

If you have any feedback, my username on Discord is n3r3sh
I would be glad to improve this for all users :)

Tag categories:

- Non-d3t:
   - tetra:slimeblood, tetra:lavablood, forge/c:bosses, forge/c:golems, minecraft:skeletons (excluded from all taxonomic tags), minecraft:zombies

- Taxonomic:
   - These tags are based on taxonomic classification of organic mobs. If anything has any of these tags, it will automatically be grouped into Organic. If anything has multiple taxonomic tags, make sure to also tag it as Hybrid.
   - Amphibious (only for breathing entities), Arachnids, Birds, Bovidae (includes Bovine, Caprine and Ovine), Canine, Crustaceans, Feline, Fishes, Fungal, Insects, Mammals, Molluscs, Plants, Porcine, Reptiles, Forgotten Arthropod

- Forgotten:
   - These are tags for entities that should probably use the vanilla classifications, but for whatever reason do not. These tags are not added to the vanilla tags in newer versions, because that would impact the functions of Smite, Bane of Arthropods and Impaling, which is not my goal.
   - Forgotten Aquatic, Forgotten Arthropod, Forgotten Undead

- Fundamental:
   - These describe the fundamental nature of what kind of being the mob is.
   - Constructs, Disease (a mob that is a parasite, causes disease or is fundamentally diseased), Mechanical (included in Constructs), Organic (includes all mobs tagged by any taxonomic tag, Undead With Flesh and Skeletons), Rocklife (somehow animate minerals that are not Constructs), Spirits (both nature spirits and sometimes ghosts), Undead With Flesh

- Shape and Traits:
   - These are sort of miscellaneous tags that further describe the mobs.
   - Alien (unusual anatomy), Fluffy (with great volume of fur or feathers), Flying, Grazers (mostly eat vegetation, or would eat it if they ate anything), Greedy (very general, describes the ability to have desires, mostly applies to either sapient mobs, nearly sapient mobs or especially greedy mobs), Hollow (balloon-like, with great buoyancy or the ability to inflate), Humanoid (upright or able to move upright and having 4 limbs and a head seperate from the body), Rigid (very hard on the outside), Sapient (mobs with human-level intelligence or nearly so, I tend to be pretty generous with this one), Serpentine (long snake-like body with no limbs), Sorcerous (able to use magic thanks to knowledge of spells or potions), Spectral (see-through and with main body not composed of tangible matter), Squishy (very soft), Void (having a connection to The Void, related to Endermen or able to teleport innately, not through a spell)

- Somewhat:
   - Include mobs that almost made it to another tag, but for whatever reason didn't.
   - Somewhat/Humanoid, Somewhat/Porcine, Somewhat/Serpentine, Somewhat/Undead (half-undead)
   - You can add more of these tags, I only added the ones I needed to. In the future, I may move some Sapient mobs to Somewhat/Sapient.
